The Country Of The United States - 1255 Words
A country inhabited by over 6 million people off of the coast of Central America. A beautiful land full of beaches and wildlife, but also a place ruined by corruption and gang populations that feel that they are leaders of the urban areas. This country has been torn by the result of war games played among its own brothers. The beautiful country of El Salvador that has been the place of birth for my parents, grandparents and ancestors. San Salvador is the nationââ¬â¢s capital and possibly most famous area of my land. The smallest of all Central American countries yet the most densely populated. Our flag is blue and white with a symbol representing the coat of arms in the center. Salvadorian people also being a large part of the United States Immigrant population due to catastrophes from home. From a failed economy to the adoption of the U.S. dollar the history of this land has not been by any means an easy road. El Salvador was once a home to many indigenous groups, most know the Mayans, the Nahuatl, and the industrious Pipil. Many of these groups were wiped out as they faced a sickness in the form of smallpox and battle with new settlers from Spain, under the rule of the Spanish king. A Spanish conquistador by the name of Pedro de Alvarado led the quest alongside his brother Gonzalo de Alvarado and their army of Spanish troops.
